I’m new to using twin blade re-usable type razors that require replacement blades after a life using disposable plastic things and I have to admit it took a little longer to avoid shaving cuts than I expected. It also confused my - admittedly quite simple! - mind that replacement razors from different companies that all look basically the same can be very different to use. Which means a selection set like this was really helpful in deciding which blades worked for me. Good selection of products. 100% recommended. Very happy customer.

I've been using the crappiest DE razor for years and jamming whatever crappier blades I could find in Boots into it. I never knew about different blades performing differently. I got a Muhle R89 Twist so this is an excellent way to find what suits my face (some might say a paper bag) and the razor. Excellent service and quick delivery.

Huge selection

I have not tried all the types within this set as yet, so I cannot really decide on my preference. However, it is a huge selection of blades and they will last me for ever. Excellent value for money.

A great way to try the different blades on offer. Lord and Astra were the best for me.Treet, Gilette and Derby not quite as sharp, Wilkinson kept cutting me and Shark goes blunt half way through the 3rd shave.

Right. I am new to DE shaving having been using a fusion since it was launched but got fed up with £2.50 per cartridge so thought there has to be a better way. So, I got myself an Edwin Jagger DE89 and this pack of blades. Having worked my way through the entire set over a couple of weeks, I have found good, bad and indifferent for my own face. The Astra Platinum give a good close shave with one pass, the Derby felt like it was trying to pluck my stubble hair by hair with the Wilkinson Sword giving me my first razor burn in over 3 years. The rest were "OK". Would have been nice (hence only 4*) to have a pack of Feather in the mix? Or, possibly to have 2 blades from each manufacturer to try rather than a pack of 5 blades as this way I will probably bin 20 odd unused blades. Still worth a go though!

Great starter selection pack. Bought these with a box of Feather. Couldn't believe that the humble razor blade has so much difference between makers. For me the best of the bunch were the Lord, Shark & Derby blades. The others didn't suit my skin. Well worth purchasing to get a good mix of samples. Great service as well.

Fantastic value. As a first time DE shaver this has been the perfect way to figure out which blades suit me best. I haven't even managed to try them all yet but so far I love the LORD Platinums and the Astras.

Just got back to traditional shaving and ditched the cassette razors as getting ridiculous pricy. What a great way to find the blade for you. Just remember what works for one person,doesn't mean that it will work for you so be patient and try this selection out. It took me a month to find the right blade / the right pre-shave and the right shaving cream to give me that perfect shave.Oh bear in mind that you will get a few nicks on the way

After reading alot of the reviews about the blades, it was obvious that everyone's face is different and so requires a different blade. This pack is ideal for shave testing a few and finding the right one for you. Its a must for all traditional shaving virgins :)

Good idea for someone who is converting from cartridge type blades to single blades. It allows me to try several types of blade without having to order several individual items.

Neat idea which helps a beginner like myself make a very personal choice. I've always known Gillette blades were great and these 7 O'Clock razors get 5/5 from me. The others all performed well with the Derbys perhaps slightly out in front. 4.5/5 for sure. However, I had a pretty grim experience with the Shark razors. They felt distinctly second-hand, dragged badly and pulled at my skin. I threw them in the bin.

Very good selection of blades at an excellent price when compared to sample packs on other shaving websites/shopping websites. Agree with one of the posts below that a feather blade would be a good inclusion but £8.00 + £3.50 for a pack of 10 feathers from this website still represents great value hence rating. One thing to note is the picture may be misleading as my pack did not contain the gillette blades but some ASCO orange blades from LORD instead.

Great way to try a bunch of different blades, I've been using cheap packs from Boots for a few years not realising there could be such a difference. Only used 2 types so far, the Derby's cut my face up a bit but the Astra's have been very nice.

Have bought for myself many times and always found to be excellent value for money, when searching for some variety. However, recently bought as a gift to get a friend started with DE shaving and couldn't help but feel the addition of some Feathers would be perfect. Yes they aren't a beginner-friendly blade, but such a popular #1 blade would be worth including, even if it increased the price at little.

I had read on a number of forums that you really need to test drive different blades for the same reasons as posted on this page.
This seems to be the best value sample pack around, you get loads of blades to try for a reasonable price.
So far the Astra is working well for me, seems to have a little more flex in it, but I haven't managed to use all of the brands yet.

Have not tried them all yet but my ratings so far
1:-Astra. ***** My first ever shave with a DE was a breeze they removed almost all hair on first pass didn't cause irritation and lasted for 5 shaves.
2:-Gillette ***.I have used two of these so far they cut well but need more passes they are fine with a weeks growth but can irritate if used daily.
3.Lords.* They get 3rd place as I have only used 3 blades so far,Theses are a poor blade and one I would never buy,they do not cut well they don not last and can take more than three passes and a re lather to get a decent shave they are not suitable for a quick shave or a for one that needs a bit of time,they also irritate my face and barely last 3 shaves.

An absolute bargain. You get to see which razor best suits your skin instead of you dropping money on each individual pack.

Excellent price for the choice and what sets Traditional Shaving apart from the rest is its range, keen prices and lack of postage charges. Have also ordered a Merkur slant bar 37C, which I'm looking forward to receiving. A wet shaver for 35 years my advice would be to include Personna's platinum chrome, my daily weapon of choice. The best of these for me so far are the Shark and Astra.

Excellent value for money. Haven't tried all of the different brands, only Derby, Gillette and Sharks. I think the Derby offer the best performance, Gillette's are also good, Sharks seem a touch less sharp but seem to last longer than the Gilette's but it might just be me. Regardless, an excellent product for any first timer.

A great idea, as its my 1st time using a Jagger DE89 I got these, glad I did, not gone through them all and its a bargain price to get so many, so much so I use one and dispose. the multi pack is a must to try out.

Working my way through these,glad I bought them with new Razor.I like the Derby,Lord so far.The Gillette I had to remove very harsh blade not very comfortable at all,will not be using again.It may be that my beard/stubble is a bit hard? I have not tried any of the others yet.But for the price this has to be good value compared to the disposable I used previous £9/10 every 2 weeks.

As a new user of a DE razor i thought a blade was just a blade, so this was a cheap supply. It turns out you can tell the difference and some feel better than others. a must have for new DE razor users.

I ordered these together with an Edwin Jagger DE89L (a razor I can also recommend incidentally) and what a great move. The difference between the various blades is remarkable and something clearly down to ones combination of skin, bristle, razor, technique, shave products etc, etc; I really don't know how else you would quickly and economically find your ideal blade other than buy a sample pack like this.
I've not worked through the pack yet but so far the Astra Platinums are in the lead for comfort and closeness of shave with the Derby in last place. However, reading reviews online it's apparent that a lot of people really rate the Derby so you can see how important it is to try as many blades as you can, buying this pack is a good start.

Started out with Derby but bought this pack to see if anything was different. So far the Gillettes are the best for me. Great way to cost effectively suss out which blades are best for you!

Great sample for starters, I just think the some Personnas could be added; also the Gillette that came for me was the blue one, although I was expecting the yellow.

Everyone says to try as many blades as you can to find the ones that are right for you, this is a great value way to do that!

Bargain. I originally looked at cost when buying blades and this starter kit worked out (at the time) cheaper than buying the same number of single branded blades. However - the reviews are all correct - the different blades do cut in different ways and having bought two of these packs (a stock of emergency supplies) I now know which branded blades to purchase next time. It is well worth paying the extra for blades you know won't knick, irritate or cause ingrown hairs and this pack is a great help in determining which ones they are.

Glade I purchased this so I could try out different blades. Gillette blades seem to be by far the best for my skin type, followed by the Derby blades.

Great idea £8 for a lot of blades to find the one that is right for you. Only tried 3 types so far and quality of cut is not equal so now I know which to buy long term.

For the price this is a great set of blades to experiment with for a first time user. in my opinion the Astra and Wilkinson's were the best with the best quality metal and the sharpest edge. The rest are okay but not quite as good (could be something to do with skin type ?) all round great for £8

A must for all newbies to DE shaving. All blades have their individual qualities and irritations, it is subjective to each individual, but a good way to find which blade is best for you, then follow it up with a bulk order for your favourite blade.

I bought a safety razor and assorted blades in order to shave my head (previously I used plastic cartridges). Unfortunately I am unable to shave quickly or effectively using the safety razor. I have tried each of the different blades, and none seem suitable for shaving against the grain (which I need to do in order to get a suitably close shave).

Good variety but it is missing the Super Iridiums

As in the description, it s vital that you try various blades. Different ones have different results, even to the experienced shaver. Some advanced shavers even change blades for different occasions eg when they need a very close shave for a special occasion. This is a great way for a beginner to try out different blades. If you re new to DE shaving, I d recommend starting off with the Derby blades as they re the most forgiving. Next step up I d say is the astra. Am currently using the 7 o clock blades and they re the best so far. Will post another review once I ve tried all of the blades in the pack. Currently, I ve used one blade from each pack for four times before going for a new blade from another pack.

A most useful selection. Some good some not so good, with the Wilkinson Sword blades coming out on top for me with the Lords and old favourite Astras running them close.. I ve never really liked Derbys and the Gillettes and Treets were poor too. The Sharks were somewhere in the middle. Your mileage, as they say, may vary.
