If you want lather then look no further and a little goes a very long way, and I find it best when used with a shaving bowl, more than enough lather for three passes if you have those awkward little bits like me

This cream has a very nice line scent which is refreshing to wake up to. What works for me is to dip a damp brush into the tub and work this into my beard, using a bit more water on the brush if necessary. Do not rush but take time to build up a creamy, velvety lather.your face feels wonderful. More than enough lather for three passes if you need three. Shave very comfortable and leaves skin soft, and as if you had finished off with a balm. If you do nick your face, use the brush and brush lather our it, The lime seems to heal the nick. If you buy this, your face will feel great afterwards.

Absolutely superb. Refrained from buying it in the past as it seemed too much to spend but you use so little of it, it doesn't work out any dearer than the others. Silky smooth shave and delightful lime fragrance – the best I've come across.

The best shaving cream out there. To get the full potential out of this cream its best to use a good brush and bowl to whip up a proper lather.

Excellent cream. The smell is great and the all important lather is easy to work up. It is expensive but larger than most creams I have owned so is actually good value and after one use you will want to keep using it again and again. I found it does what it claims. I have one specific area of my neck that always seems to come up in bumps and razor burn but not after using this cream. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Practically perfect in every way. Worth pointing out that the box says it's for skin prone to nicks and cuts. Mine's more prone to razor burn, but not any more! Also, I had been DE shaving in cold water for 18 months to cut back on razor burn. Not any more! This stuff is amazing. Smells great and you only need the tiniest amount, too, so it's going to last forever.

A bit disappointed after the other reviews here. Used this about 6 months now, it makes a nice creamy lather & smells great but seems to lack glide & lubrication compared with others I have tried. I would give it 3 1/2 stars ideally.

As a soldier, for many years I have used shaving oil as it takes up so little valuable space in my pack when on operations. I got back to tradtional shaving again recently and replaced my empty Trueffit and Hill tub with this one. Hardly any is needed on the brush for a smooth, creamy shave and it leaves a lovely scent behind. Very refreshing.

Castle Forbes make superb shaving creams with slick lather that makes for a less irritating shave & the Lime scent in this cream is the best by far that I will just unscrew the lid to catch a whiff of the refreshing scent.

I am new convert of Traditional Shaving and after visiting the store, kitting myself out with all the necessary items the store manager advised I go for this cream. The larger size makes it ideal for my longer travels away from the UK, and the quality and fragrance is second to none.

Other shaving creams are great, however, Castle Forbes lead the way.

This cream is magnificent! The lime fragrance is incredibly refreshing too.

Expensive? Not really, this tub will last for months and is actually bigger in size than its rivals therefore pound for pound the price is comparable. Go on, treat yourself.

Always in search of the perfect shave I have tried the various 'quality' creams from Trumper, Taylor, Harris etc, all of which have done the job.
However ........... my experience is that Castle Forbes takes matters to the next level, being super smooth, giving a close shave and being very economical as only a tiny amount of cream is needed on the brush to give a silky smooth lather. The lime scent is the most faithful I have so far experienced and I will shortly order the Castle Forbes lavender version. Top marks!

what more can i say first time i have used lime cream and balm like all of castle forbes shaving products the best you can buy and i should know 45 years of shaving tried them all shaving foams you must be kidding try the best and you will not go back. dave.

Worth every penny. It's easily the best shave cream I've used. It smells amazing and feels even better.
