Shaving is a smooth pleasure when using this product. Nicks just don't occur unless you are obviously careless and my Gillette Mach 3 blades are lasting 2 or 3 days longer than they did when using other more expensive soaps.

Absolutely what I wanted, at a very reasonable price.
Before I found this excellent soap produced by Cyril R Salter although I was able to have a close shave with other products shaving was never comfortable and I frequently nicked and cut myself. Now nicks are extremely rare and shaving is a smooth pleasure. This is an excellent and sensibly priced product.
An excellent product for the price
Until now I have been using Boots own shaving bowl soap which I have found to be excellent at a good price. I now live in Thailand and am unable to get this soap so have tried this one. To be honest, it is no better than the Boots own brand. It does not produce as creamy a lather even after many minutes work with the brush. It smells good though.

Good lubrication and rich lather
IMO, this is one of the great bargains, not only among English shaving soaps but also among the shaving soaps of France, Germany and Italy. How can a soap that sells for so few dollars, be so outstanding in glide, cushion, moisturizing and closeness of shave. You have very little to lose by trying this little known gem.

This is my second soap after Col Conk and I admit the quality is waaay downgraded. This one is not at all intimate with the skin and nowhere near exfoliating. It is rather a warm version of the Gillete foam. I can melt Col Conk in a microwave to fill my bowl, but this one does not melt, it rather burns. Probably not enough glycerine content. It is merely a price-quality bargain and if you want a real treat in the mornings you need a more expensive soap. I ain t buying this one next time around. Try Mama Bears maybe (Col Conk is a luxury).
