I was looking for a clean shave without having to go to the barbers regularly and was fed up with the modern razors for sale as all they gave me was razor rash and a poor shave. After surfing the web looking for a razor that used "proper" blades most reviews said the Merkur 34c was one of the best to get. So upon more surfing I came across this web site. Not only was their more of a choice but lots of information as well. I decided to get a starter pack only it came by default with a Edwin Jagger razor so I was pleased I could taylor my shopping and choose the Merkur 34c instead I also opted for the sample pack of razors (7 packs of 5 razors). 2 days later and I had my first proper shave in almost 30 years. The whole shopping experience on this site was enjoyable from the browsing ordering to the delivery. Someone even put a few sweets in the parcel which I thought was a nice touch. A great introduction to shaving with a DE safety razor! I went with the blade sample pack to give me chance to try more brands for a reasonable price and look forward to picking my favourite. If I could buy again, my only change would probably be to pick a cream instead of a soap. I can produce a nice lather with the Geo F soap but not consistently. I'm putting this down to my inexperience and am sure I will learn to get a great lather every time, but a cream would have saved me this hassel initially. Great service and very swift delivery. I look forward to spending more on this new hobby...
this is the first DE safety razor I have ever used. its a brilliant little set the only thing I found was I wanted a stand for the brush so bought the £6 from this site.
