Futur Safety Razor Chrome

I purchased this Mercury chrome safety shaver quite awhile ago now from this company and have set this shaver on all the different shaving closeness of the blade; now this shaver is set at 1 and it still cuts me, me even though it is a good shaver but I cannot fathom out when it is set at number 1 why it still gives a bad shave.

Really struggling to enjoy this razor. The build quality is undoubtedly fantastic, but even on level 1 it is a much more agreesive cut that the Merkur 34C and Timor I'm used to. I was hoping the adjustable would replace both. I will persist for another week or two to see if I get used to it, and try another brand of blade. Unfortunately but this may end an expensive error at the back of the drawer.

Not going to get into details here.its simply the best adjustable(Mekur future) razor ever produced.Period !

Upgraded to this from a DE89. much more aggressive which is what I needed, even at the lowest settling. Heavy but still a pleasure to use and very well made. I'm using them with feather blades.

Was a bit cautious when I bought this razor as I have only been DE shaving for around four months .
What an amazing shave , always use on number 6 and get a fantastic shave without any cuts , would recommend this even though it is expensive compared to others . Great razor , great service from TSCo.

Superb razor, nice weight no need to put pressure on razor when shaving , just gone back to shaving with a blade from electric shaver much better shave well worth the money

Quality bit of kit. Takes a couple of days to get used to the weight, compared to the multi-blade I used before, and it's best used gently - let the weight of the razor do the work rather than pressing it to your face. Overall, very pleased.

I've just come back to shaving with a de blade after quite a few years using an electric shaver. The build quality of the Merkur is excellent, the adjustable blade feature is great for someone like me who can cut themselves with an electric razor! Prompt deliver form The Traditional Shaving Company and a nice touch with the free fudge in the box :-)

Better shave than standard R89 type with the ability to change number to match growth. Well made and glad I bought the chrome.

A well made, quality piece of German engineering.I recently bought one of these razors and it outclasses any other that I have owned.The fact that it is also adjustable to set the blade exposure to suit me is an added bonus.Recommended.

I have a collection of merker razors including the progress .all very good shaving razors with a reasonable quality finish . I have just took delivery of the progress in crhrome and I have to say the engineering quality and design of this is outstanding and innovative a fully strip down serviceable razor .the quality is right up there with the likes of Edwin jagger and mule .the razor has a flip top blade replacement which is unique and totally functional the adjustment mechanism is precise practicall and positive.The blade to safety bar gap looks fearsome but in use is smooth precise and forgiving .perfect balance and shaves well with a wide variety of blades.This is a razor to gravitate to after you have developed a solid and experienced shaving technique.splash the cash and you will be buying a iconic safety razor that you can hand down to your sons that will deliver a versatile and precise shave .for the discerning wet shaver.TSC fantastic thanks guys.

Not cheap and took a while to take the plunge but glad I finally did. Worth every penny. A seriously impressive piece of shaving kit.

Pretty smooth shaving, excellent weight, glossy "surgery-clear" finish. I usually use it with "Sputnik" or "Personna" blades, all give perfect shave. It is not my first safety DE razor. At first it was russian non-adjustable "Rapira" - very agressive with "Sputnik" blade, then it was soviet adjustable "Ideal" - perfect results with "Sputnik" or "Gillete Rubie". But Merkur Futur gives excellent results with all of my blades: "Sputnik", "Perssona", "Rapira", "BIC", "Gillette Rubie" etc. Love it!

An excellent product. Fantastic weight, simple adjustment mechanism and it looks good. A stunning shave.

Superb razor, solidly built. I bought the chrome version (it was on offer in this finish) and have had no problems with grip or adjusting the setting. Excellent results and a joy to use.

this razor has got good and bad points, gives an excellent shave on the larger areas but near the nose mouth etc is very poor, the very large head means a lot of guess work where it will shave the blade is not near the edge, is weighted well comfortable in the hand will last a long time pity about the huge head

My first DE razor, even came with sweets, nice touch! Carved my face up on first attempt before realising the manufacture had not tightened it to right number set, but after I moved it on Amazing shave much better then i even imagined moving from a Wilkinson sword hydro 5, The wife even bought me Truefitt & hill soap with a badger from the amazing Leeds shop!
Overall if your thinking about trying a DE go for it Age 28, not looking back.

This a superb razor! Solid build quality and will give many years of service. I have several razors and this is without doubt within my top 3 preferred. I have a very coarse beard and this just cut through my 4 day growth with littlest effort. Coupled with a feather blade or dare I say Gillette 7 o clock (any) this thing just cuts like no other razor giving a very close and comfortable shave. Not much fingertip feedback but does however give the most distinct audible feedback which sets it apart from any other razor I have ever used. Great service as usual with fast delivery from Traditional Shaving.

This is by far the best razor around.I will not go back to Gilette. I am looking forward now to every shave and it's a pleasure.i also take my time shaving now,what's the rush? At the end my skin feels smooth and nice.order it today!

A beautiful and well made razor, really looks the part. It has now become one of my top three razors. A good weight makes the shave effortless, letting the razor do the work as it glides over the face. Very pleased.

Absolutely perfect. Shave every day use setting 1. Shave every second day use setting 2 and so on. Brilliant weight and balance and just the lightest of touches. No irritation.

I have previously purchased almost the whole range of Merkur razors including the formidable "vision" which I found too bulky and difficult to handle. The "futur" performs just perfectly especially with the adjustment from mild to very aggressive. All in all a fantastic piece of kit. Buy it now- you wont be disappointed.

Very nice razor, a bit heavy, but it works great. I was a bit disappointed that the alignment with the numbers was off.

This is my first hq double edge razor. The shave is better definitely more enjoyable than with cartridge razors, although in the beginning, I needed to do one more pass over my Mach3. Highly recommended!

Bought this for my husband. He has a lot of course, dark hair and shaving has always been a nightmare. He absolutely loves this razor and actually enjoys shaving! He has lovely soft skin and no multiple in grown hairs. A definite winner all round.

this my first de razor and at first it can be a little scary but when you have worked out that you need to work up from setting 1 and find the setting that is good for you it does become easier, as you become used to the lighter touch that you will need shaving will become a pleasure and you will wonder why the hell you did not change before dont put off buying this razor just do it as you will love it.Steve

after forgetting my cartridge razor when I travelled recently I was lent a safety razor. Was so impressed with the difference I ve come home and ordered the Futur as a treat. The futur gives an incredible shave SOOO much better than the cratridge razors. And lets be honest the design is cool too.

I ve never been a shaving fan, actually quite the opposite. But I decided to try DE razor and the difference is huge! Not only much better shave, but also I m enjoying the experience!

Highly recommended, use the weight of the razor and don t add additional pressure and you will be fine. start at 1 and work your way up.
