I lost my safety razor over twenty years ago and this one has brought back to me just how good a shave you get from this type of razor. It is very well made and finished. It is a razor that should last a lifetime.

This is my first DE razor and I'm more than thrilled to have it. I'm glad that I ordered long version because it's easier to grip it. Hope I'm staying with this one for life.

Great razor! Previously used a Wilkinson Sword DE and was a cartridge shaver all this while. With the Merkur, am never going back. Money well spent. Not sure if the 34C would have been better, but the 38C does not warrant a complaint at any level.

Was concerned on the weight of this but now I've used it a bit I wouldn't change ir for a lighter version.

This is one seriously heavy razor..very solidly constructed ..but let down by machining marks under the chrome at the ends of the shaving head..This is just cosmetic and in no way detracts from the razors excellent performance..

First shave with this razor and the Merkur blade provided....First impressions were of a chunky and heavy razor...a quality product with heavy Chrome and a good finish...you do not need to press on the weight of the razor does all the work....What a delightful clean crisp shave...With no nicks or cuts...you can tell the difference with the first pass of the blade......two or three passes and you have a super smooth finish like nothing I've ever had before.......and I've shaved with steel for fifty years...One thing I would suggest is a splash with cold water and a moisturiser afterwards...the shave is very close.....
