Merkur Slant 37G safety razor with gold plated finish. The Merkur Slant is very similar to the Merkur HD but with a slanted blade exposure. Recommended to people with the unfortunate combination of a heavy beard and sensitive skin and able to product an incredibly close shave. The Slant is a heavyweight safety razor. A true high quality product for a VERY moderate prices (today's gold prices taken into account). The razor itself.. well, it's a slant bar. While applying a disciplined technique, you can get really close shaves. Disobeye the razor's command and you'll be punished accordingly. And: Everything has its limits. If your skin is TOO sensitive, the best technique won't help you with this slant bar : it WILL hurt you.

Superb razor and unlike other users I find the slanted blade makes it gentle on the skin and aggressive only on hair. I prefer it my Muhle R89.

Extremely effective and versatile razor. I started out with a 34c but needed something more aggressive, since I have extra hard and resistant beard in combination with sensitive skin. The 37G is perfect for this application, just make sure you have good razor technique. I use the 37G with feathers and get a perfect baby smooth shave every time.

This razor's reptutation of being super-aggressive holds so true. Against my previous HD34c it is almost identical in build aside from it's slanted head which allows the blade to slice through your hair instead of chopping. The result is smooth skin in less passes - 2-3 for me with an Iridium blade. An amazing buy.
