Having always used Gilette razers, the first time I used the Merkur, it was the best shave I ever had - smooth and no irritation. Much closer shave than Gilette when going with the grain.

Excellent DE safety Razor. Comes with a single sample razor blade which was not so good - but hey it's a freebie!

Nice balance. First time I have used a razor like this. (My father used a similar one for years.) Closest shave in a long time, especially compared with new-fangled triple bladed razors.
