The only way to shave, forget triple blades etc. The perfect way to start the day when the daily routine becomes a pleasure, with this who wouldn't want to shave every day.

My first foray into DE shaving was around ten years ago with a Boots own-brand razor and blades. Whether it was due to the poor quality of the razor of simply bad technique, the resulting nicks and razor burn sent me back to disposable Gillettes. Recently I decided to try again, and purchased a Wilkinson Sword DE razor and blades. This time my shaves were much smoother and more comfortable than ever. Flushed with success, I decided to take the plunge and get myself a "proper" razor. I'm glad I did. The Merkur is a quality piece of equipment and matched with the blade that most suits you, will give you the best shave you have ever had. You must, however, invest in a shaving brush and some good quality cream or soap. Oh, and if you haven't tried it, I recommend shaving while still in the shower - it helps soften your beard more than shaving over the sink. I'm currently still using the Wilkinson blades, but I think I'll be stepping up to Feathers at some point. Hard to believe, but using the Merkur has turned shaving from an irritating chore into something that I actually look forward to. If you haven't ever used a DE razor before, trust me when I say that if you are thinking of trying it, don't hesitate. I, for one, will never go back to multi-blade razors. 10/10.

Having had a beard for six years, this lovely razor has made shaving an absolute pleasure. I have experienced no learning curve. It is always easy and comfortable.

Fantastic, first safety razor used and I would recommend for a new user. Took me about 3 attempts to get the angle right but once you get it...brilliant. I found the trick is dont apply any preasure like a standard razor

A revelation. I had never used a safety razor before, but I wont be going back to multi blade cartridge razors.
