The HD is my first DE safety razor and so far my experience has been positive. I have only had the odd minor nick so far and the quality of shave seems much improved. I Was getting massive irritation from Gilette and so far nothing from the Merkur. It's solidly built and the grooves in the handle are excellent for grip even when wet. I would recommend it to anyone! TSC were spot on with service.

Purchased this after buying the Merkur futur. As a relative newbie to DE shaving, the Futur may have been a bad choice for a first razor. The 34C is far easier to use for a beginner and nowhere near as fierce as the futur can be. The 34 C is wonderfully made, a great weight and a joy to use. Dont let me put you off the Futur, it is also a fantastic piece of work but should be used with care if you are new to it.

bought this razor for my daughters boyfriend, who is only 22, but he had mensioned that he always wanted a real razor he was absolutely overwhelmed with his present, and so far has not cut himself - brilliant

Merkurs most popular razor I can see why,it looks stunning,I particulary like the short handle which makes it more maneuverable around tricky areas.
