Why Wet Shave?

There are many reasons why modern gentlemen are being drawn to the traditional wet shaving experience.

One of the biggest reasons is the comfort of a traditional wet shave. In modern times many men suffer from irritated skin, in-growing hairs and razor burn. Often these men believe they have sensitive skin but in reality it is the products they use and the way that they use them that are most likely the cause of the problem.

Plastic multi-bladed cartridge razors are designed to pull the beard tight and cut the beard underneath the skin for a 'close' shave. This often results in beard hairs that are unable to break back through the skin resulting in a sore and unsightly in-growing hair.

Irritated skin and razor burn is usually the result of poor skin preparation and an inadequate lubricant. Traditional wet shaving soaps and creams allow the razor to glide across the skin without pulling and tugging at the hair and the simple preparation techniques used mean the skin and beard are ready to be shaved.

Another reason men are returning to classical shaving methods is that they are not satisfied with the shave that they get from their electric or plastic cartridge shaves. Nothing can beat a double edge or a straight razor for closeness and smoothness if used correctly.

Finally some men are simply bored with the tired and monotonous routine of their shave - it can be difficult to get excited about applying cold shaving goo out of a can. Applying a warm, luxurious and beautifully scented lather with a soft brush is a completely different experience. What was once a daily chore has suddenly become a pleasurable experience to be looked forward to every day.
