After The Shave
After you have finished your shave you need to replenish your skin to leave it healthy and moisturised. The first step is to give your face a cold water rinse to close your pores back up again. This will also be refreshing and will usually stop any small nicks you may have had during the shave. If you still have a few nicks or cuts after your cold rinse then you can use a styptic pencil or alum block to quickly stop the bleeding.
Pat your skin dry (never rub the skin with a towel after a shave) and then apply an aftershave splash or balm. Balms are best during colder months when the skin needs additional moisturising and splashes are best during the warmer months when you want a nice refreshing feeling. If you have sensitive skin it is often advised to use a balm throughout the year.
