Taylor of Old Bond Street was founded September 1st, 1854 by Jeremiah Taylor, the great grandfather of today's Chairman. Jeremiah Taylor opened his Hairdressing and Hair Treatment Salon in the heart of London's West End in Bond Street. He quickly gained a reputation in British Society for his botanical extract for hair and scalp treatment. Later his son Ivan, with his training in chemistry, would continue this trend by developing many fine herbal treatments.
The Taylor tradition continued through the next generation with Sidney who became Chairman in 1930. Sidney opened a new branch of Taylor of Old Bond Street in Jermyn Street where it is still located to this day. The current Chairman Leanard joined the company in 1955 and continues to carry out the work of formulating and manufacturng hair and skin products to the same high standards. Leanard's brother-in-law Stanley Morris joined the company in 1960 and in 1996 Leanard's son-in-law joined the company to help keep up the tradition of the family run business.
Today, with over 150 years of experience and service, Taylor of Old Bond Street continues to provide high quality hair, skin and shaving products. The Taylor shaving cream range has been developed featuring essential oils and using natural ingredients to produce a range of delicately fragranced shaving creams. Shaving soaps are available in Taylor of Old Bond Street wooden bowls and also individually wrapped as refills.
Taylor of Old Bond Street are renowned for their aftershaves and colognes and have developed several 'signature' scents over the years. These include 'Shaving Shop', 'Eton College', 'Mr Taylors', 'St James' and many more.
